Learn something new about ocean power

Discussion created by Robert Pleticha Partner on 15-Feb-2017

New blog on Tapping into Ocean Power from Columbia University that details the types of devices used to capture wave energy, ocean thermal energy, and tide and current energy. I learned ocean power hasn't been widely used yet, but there is the world’s largest tidal barrage in South Korea with a 12.7-kilometer power plant that produces 254MW of power, so that's cool.

Given that other renewables like wind are so far ahead, do you think ocean power will ever catch up and be able to make a dent in reducing CO2 emissions?
