Michigan State University has recently published a new transparent material able to harvest energy from our fingers slides or presses on the screen, reducing in their opinion the battery recharge rate. Reading the paper it can be extract that their first attempts produce an amount of power to make 20 LED working, even though they state a power lower than 1 microWatt for a cell of 1.5x1.5 cm^2.

There is anybody who have an idea of the consumption of electricity for mobile phone screens and can give an opinion on this breakthrough?
