EMINE students win the 5th edition of the Talent Attraction Contest of the Spanish Nuclear Society

Aug 04, 2020

The fifth edition of the Talent Attraction Contest of the Spanish Nuclear Society presented a challenge to define the way to design, manufacture and build the first Small Modular Reactor (SMR) in Spain in a hypothetical situation; a premature loss of nuclear generation in 2029 and the need for carbon-free solutions to cover the rebound in energy demand caused by the electrification of the car park and industry.

Krzysztof Otlik and Mario Adolfo Ponce Tovar, students of EIT Innoenergy's Masters in Nuclear Energy (MSc EMINE)programme, were among the winning team that will receive an invitation to the 46th Annual Meeting, a cash prize of 1,200 euros, an accrediting diploma, and the possibility of participating in the SNE's 2020 Mentoring Program. Another of our MSc EMINE students, Justice Nwade, was among the team that got a special mention from SNE for technical quality of their solution.

Congratulations to the students on their achievement and CommUnity wishes them success in their next steps!
