CommUnity Team Calls 2023-2024


We are the EIT InnoEnergy CommUnity, a community that empowers EIT InnoEnergy students, alumni, and like-minded individuals from more than 90 countries who are passionate about sustainability and innovation in the energy sector. As pioneers of change, we strongly believe that people play a crucial role in driving transformation. By fostering knowledge sharing, idea exchange, and inspiring innovation through collaboration, we have built a supportive network of individuals who are empowered to make a lasting impact on sustainable energy within an innovative and entrepreneurial environment.

Our CommUnity boasts over 60 dedicated volunteer leaders spread across Europe, working together to organize 50+ events annually. These events encompass a diverse range of activities, including workshops, webinars, alumni talks, social gatherings, trivia nights, and company visits. They provide our members with opportunities to learn, network, and share valuable insights. With a membership base of over 3000 individuals from more than 90 countries, we continue to grow and unite like-minded individuals who share our values and vision.

We are currently looking for talented individuals to fill the following positions:

LOCAL MANAGER
Responsibilities:
•    Serve as a liaison between the local team and the CommUnity Office.
•    Provide leadership and guidance to the local team.
•    Supervise and coordinate the organization of at least 4 events in collaboration with the team.
•    Oversee financial matters related to events in compliance with finance policies and procedures established by the CommUnity Office.
•    Ensure that all events align with the core values and policies of the CommUnity.
•    Participate in monthly calls with other CommUnity Managers.
•    Foster effective teamwork through clear communication and regular team meetings.
•    Assist in recruiting new team members and encouraging active participation.
•    Support the recruitment and smooth transition of a successor when your leadership term concludes.
Required qualifications:
•    Currently enrolled as an EIT InnoEnergy master student or alumni (Intake 2023 applicants are also encouraged to apply).
•    Highly responsive on the CU Platform, email, and/or Teams.
•    Skilled in building strong relationships and effective communication with diverse work teams.
•    Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
•    Proficient in communication, organization, and time management.
•    Possesses a positive attitude and demonstrates a proactive work ethic.
Preferred qualifications:
•    Experience in leading a team.
•    Background in communication.
•    Previous experience in event organizing.

EVENT MANAGER
Responsibilities:

•    Plan and execute local events in collaboration with the other team members.
•    Generate creative ideas for various types of events such as workshops, webinars, speaker series, company visits, and case studies. 
•    Manage event logistics, including venue coordination, arranging speakers.
•    Handle event budgets and invoicing.
•    Develop an event communication and promotion strategy to maximize the reach and impact of our events.
•    Provide support in preparing post-event reports.
Required qualifications:
•    Currently enrolled as an EIT InnoEnergy master student or alumni. ((Intake 2023 applicants are also encouraged to apply)
•    Ability to develop engaging content that attracts members of the CommUnity.
•    Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
•    Highly responsive on the CU Platform, email, and/or Teams.
•    Basic knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
•    Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
•    Positive attitude and proactive work ethic.
Preferred qualifications:
•    Experience in organizing events.
•    Skills in managing event budgets.

ALUMNI ADVISOR
Responsibilities:

•    Serve as the alumni representative and contact person in each local or topic chapter.
•    Strengthen connections by facilitating alumni engagement.
•    Collaborate with local or topic teams to generate new event ideas and activities with an alumni perspective.
•    Ensure active alumni participation in activities organized by the local chapter.
•    Assist in onboarding new team members.
Required qualifications:
•    Alumni of EIT InnoEnergy.
•    Provide insights on trends in the energy field.
•    Support the CU team in organizing alumni-related events.
•    Contribute to ideation of new event types and activities.
•    Strong networking, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
•    Highly responsive on the CU Platform, email, and/or Teams.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
•    Positive attitude and proactive work ethic.
•    Preferred: Prior engagement with the community as a student.

Duration for all roles:
•    September 2023 - July 2024 (11 months) + onboarding of new managers during the summer period of 2024.
