"Swarm Electrification. Share electricity and brighten your future"

Distributed energy assets are changing the power sector’s landscape. Could electricity be next to go the way of a sharing economy? Today companies such as Uber and Airbnb are platforms to unbundle underutilized existing physical assets and monetize interconnections among users, with close to zero investment costs since the user themselves own the assets. Could they become prosumers, able to produce and sell electricity to their neighbours? In Bangladesh, this is now a reality: ME SOLshare has successfully implemented a Swarm Electrification village grid by interconnecting existing solar home systems with low-voltage DC cables and smart electricity meters. Insights and way forward of such micro-scale energy transition model will be presented. Let’s share electricity and brighten our future!
