When you write your Master’s thesis or publish other kinds of academic papers, we kindly ask you to acknowledge InnoEnergy as well as the university at which you studied or completed your research. Given the unique nature of the InnoEnergy Master’s School, this is not always straightforward. We have therefore written this short guide to help you.

Acknowledging InnoEnergy in your Master’s thesis

The acknowledgement of InnoEnergy should include the following text on a single page at the end of your thesis or (if applicable) in the acknowledgement section of the thesis.

This thesis is based on work conducted on the Master’s in [FULL NAME OF PROGRAMME] programme as part of the InnoEnergy Master´s School. The programme is supported financially by InnoEnergy.

If you received a scholarship or fee waiver, the text should be:

This thesis is based on work conducted on the Master’s in [FULL NAME OF PROGRAMME] as part of the InnoEnergy Master´s School. The programme is supported financially by InnoEnergy. The author also received financial support from InnoEnergy, which is gratefully acknowledged.

Where space allows, you can also add the following text about InnoEnergy:

InnoEnergy is the innovation engine for sustainable energy across Europe. Established in 2010 as a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), InnoEnergy’s goal is to create a more sustainable energy sector for Europe and beyond.

The InnoEnergy Master’s School is a key component of the InnoEnergy strategy. Each of its seven international Master’s programmes is designed to build technical knowledge, creative engineering skills, and business, entrepreneurial and innovation management experience. The goal is to shape informed, engaged and ambitious individuals who can reinforce the innovation capacity of EU member states.

If it is allowed to add logos to your acknowledgement, you should also include the following logo:

Referencing programme universities in your Master’s thesis

Where space allows, you can also reference the universities that developed and delivered your Master’s programme. This is in addition to the traditional reference to the universities where you studied and/or completed your research. The reference should include the full name of all the universities involved, plus their logos (if possible).

The following is an example:

The MSc ENTECH programme is a collaboration between Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany; Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal; Grenoble Institute of Technology, France; and Uppsala University, Sweden.
