Its not always about Electricity or Heat. Our everyday choices play a crucial role in climate change, and will define and shape our future, however small it may be. Of course, individual effects can be neglected, but cumulative effects add up to levels that no longer can be ignored. 

 

Food, is one such element. Many literature and documents have discussed about Food and Sustainability, with regards to growing demand, need for energy and land to grow food and of course, emissions. In fact, the last year Nobel Week Dialogue in Stockholm was exactly this theme. 

 

This document presents a basket of 17 food items, most consumed in Europe and their impacts on the environment. It also documents how changes in consumption can influence each of the mid-point impact categories of Life Cycle Assessment including CO2 emissions.

 

Maybe some of us, some day will be motivated to change their diet a little bit after all!!
